Converting a HealthService ID to a Hostname

In the RMS Operations Manager event log you can receive events that complain about a HealthService. The problem is those events only show the ID (GUID). So how can we find out what hostname this GUID is really referring to?

We can use Windows PowerShell:

(Get-MonitoringObject -id ‘017d6f54-e21e-9978-7962-134476d52e84’).DisplayName
(just replace the guid with that shown inside your event)

Or you can Log onto the Database Server and run the following query against the “OperationsManager” database.

select * from mtv_healthservice where BaseManagedEntityId =’PASTE THE GUID IN HERE’

eg. select * from mtv_healthservice where BaseManagedEntityId =’017d6f54-e21e-9978-7962-134476d52e84′

In the results, the ‘DisplayName’ field will show the hostname of the server that has the error.
